Paul Mush was our top sales rep during the early days at Alldata. He innovated a highly effective sales strategy that was adopted company wide. He implemented a third-party sponsored group presentation program with auto parts stores that was amazingly successful. We promoted Paul to Strategic Alliances Director to expand the program nationally and so he could teach our sales team to duplicate his success. After Alldata was sold, I brought Paul in on a contract to analyze the sales processes at another startup I launched, Autovia, where he again found innovative ways to boost sales. I highly recommend Paul as a sales expert that can reliably help build a winning sales team.

I can’t express in words the appreciation I have for you and your expertise. You make it look simple (that’s a sign of just how good you are); and I know that you have spent a lot of time and effort to get where you are and are passing that wisdom to me freely. So, THANK YOU! I knew from early on the best thing that I could do was stay out of your way and follow instructions – which I will always do; no questions asked.

Paul came to me and pitched a remarkable idea, building a lawyer directory to capitalize on our large amount of site traffic, all focused on solving legal problems for consumers. Paul created the model and worked with us to build the site. He put together a hybrid offsite IC and in-house W2 sales team and developed the sales process. It has been a huge success and is now an integral and very important part of Nolo’s future. Without Paul this would not have happened.

Paul came to us and took what we thought was a good business model and completely changed it. We were skeptical at first but his model proved to be a winner. Paul started with nothing and ended with a $2M a month successs story. Without Paul there would be no LegalMatch. He was the inspirational leader for the company. I am eternally indebted to him. His is an amazing talent and I can recommend him without hesitation to anybody that wants the same story for their company.

My business was steady but small when I first met Paul. He agreed to help me expand the sales operation to cover all North America. Paul recreated the marketing materials and developed a successfull strategy for sales. Along the way he also created some new technology that was awarded a patent. All in all a stand-up job by a stand-up guy.

Ron Morisson

This guy is unequivocally the absolute cosmic master of sales, as you’ll come to believe after you peruse his website. He’s an absolute sales genius (and a very unusual and interesting guy), and he knows exactly how to put together and train a sales team of 50 people in two months. His whole deal is providing companies like yours with a plug-in contract sales force that GETS PAID FOR RESULTS! I know he does what he says he’ll do, cause I worked for him for a year and a half. I learned more about selling in a week than I’d learned in the prior 25 years. One warning: he’s got a rather obnoxious abrasive side that he’s not shy about letting out… but let me tell you, it’s worth putting up with. He’s the absolute perfect guy for what you need.

I listened to your training call this morning and it was very good for me to hear your experiences and sales call techniques. You have it down to a science. I am glad I attended as it was a different presentation than I have used in my other positions. Thank you also, because you were humorous and not boring. Kept my attention. Hard not to laugh sometimes.

Sales Training & Management

LegalMatch Initial Training Class and Weekly Sessions

Testimonial: To all those who have brains and bravado, I now pen this testament to one of the most driving forces in today’s marketplace that I have hence seen in many years; Paul Mush. I have been trained by Paul Mush as a sales manager for a multi-million dollar national company. His training has proven invaluable as I go through my daily routine. Without his guiding force, I may have never tried many of the ‘breakthrough’ tactics that I now use daily to put bread and butter on the table for my family.

Those who are fortunate enough to be ‘lucky enough, or smart enough’ to get the extreme privilege of being trained by Paul Mush personally, are the leaders in our community of today. I know this, because I live this. In closing I will quote a person far wiser than I, who once made a statement the typifies the Paul Mush philosophy as I know it. You don’t make the poor richer by making the rich poorer – Winston Churchill.

Letter: Paul, First I want to say that I consider you the greatest professional role model I have ever had. Below is my testimonial.

Testimonial: Call Paul Mush now.

Before I met Paul Mush I had no sales experience whatsoever. After training with Paul and succeeding in the field way beyond anyone’s expectations, I explored books and other resources on “sales techniques”. I dropped each one of them like a hot potato. I simply didn’t want them to infect me. Paul’s approach is not a “sell”. It is an energetic meeting of the minds. It is a logical conclusion of a human relationship.

Paul inspired in me a discovery that each of us is gifted with a unique potential. This unique potential will ultimately define our destiny. And Paul is amazingly successful in aligning the process of selling, with the fulfillment of a personal destiny. I use his techniques every single day.

No matter what your product or your service, if Paul believes in it, he will recruit and train an army to rival the invasion of Normandy. Amazingly, he’s able to compensate for ebbs and flows in a single person’s sales, by having a constantly replenishing pipeline that can run at optimum performance, no matter what the external conditions; and with almost no risk on the part of the company. Failure is simply not an option, because there are always reserves. Indeed, success is mandatory.

Paul took LegalMatch from negative cash flow to a 25 million dollar company in 3 years. That speaks for itself.

In the brief time I have known Paul Mush I have accumulated a wealth of knowledge and an internal reservoir of motivation. I consider these true gifts. “Commission only” is an identity, a point of pride. It is the freedom to control my destiny. ‘Thank you’ is just not enough Paul.

Testimonial: Paul Mush is a crazy, inspired genius. He has a talent for pushing people to go beyond their self-imposed limitations, finding impossible solutions, and succeeding even when the odds are against it. He is the Zen Master of sales!

When I started working with Paul, I had no sales experience. This turned out to be an advantage, because Paul’s methods are so radical and contrary to the typical sales process. Experienced sales people often had an uphill battle just to unlearn their bad habits! With Paul’s coaching, I became one of the top performers in my company, mastering an extremely challenging sale.

Paul’s motivational speaking skills are uncanny. Week after week, many of our sales team would leave his Wednesday night meetings so inspired that we stayed late into the night making deals happen. He understands how to inspire deep commitment and determination from within.

Paul is a sales scientist. His talent is to reverse engineer a sales process, analyze its essential ingredients, and create a method that works every time! I have seen people walk in with very little experience, simply follow his process to the letter, and make deals happen right away.

Letter: I watched as you took on a business that was on the verge of extinction, imbued the ragtag sales group (“irregulars” at best) with a sense of mission and methodology, and turned them into an increasingly productive team, with every month exceeding the prior one. It’s no accident that we know draw more cases in one day than we used to in a month. You successfully counseled, cajoled and critiqued us to the point that even I have a new appreciation of a very different type of sales approach. You DID move us from the “hot air with no balloon” phase to the point of overwhelming success.

Testimonial: I have worked with Paul Mush for over two years at LegalMatch and he has taught me everything I know about sales. Paul built our commission-only sales team from the ground up by recruiting, training, managing and inspiring us all. His extensive understanding and background specifically with commission-only sales makes him, in my opinion, the foremost leading expert in the field.

First attracted by Paul’s job post ads (HotJobs, Monster, Craigslist, etc.) his style is unique, effective and powerful. Because he has been a sales professional for so long his recruiting methods immediately connect with people. He “tells it like it is” and in turn earns people’s attention and respect. In a sea of companies competing to recruit talent I watched Paul literally attract thousands of sales professionals.

Again because he has worked as a commission-only salesman and has been incredibly successful his training works. I was only six months out of college and within weeks of learning from Paul I was able to start making sales (and within months became one of the top reps in the company). His training has true depth by integrating both the left (logical) and right (emotional) side of a person. He not only was able to teach me to be successful at sales but taught me how to teach others to be successful – that’s how you build a company.

Managing styles differ while few are effective. One of Paul’s best talents is his ability to scientifically create systems that work for large groups of people. He designed and implemented company wide reporting, tracking and integration systems that made us efficient and profitable. Within weeks of his arrival he actually made the company cash positive and grew us to a 25 million company in three years!

Paul is the Einstein of sales!

Testimonial: I had worked with a few startups over the past 15 years of my sales career. Over that period I had encountered numerous individuals talented at selling a product. The problem, they weren’t talented at teaching others how to duplicate their efforts. Trainingcan be vitally important in a startup. I’d been sent to Tom Hopkins, Zig Zigler and Stephen Covey seminars. Read Dale Carnegie, Napoleon Hill, Donald Trump, and “Practiced the 7 habits of Highly Effective People.” But never in my startup sales experiences had I met anyone who could walk the walk and exude real result driven training and leadership until I met Paul Mush.

With an un-wavering, but humble sense of self confidence, Paul Mush, from the moment he opens his mouth, demonstrates what it means to master the art of making the deal happen. Not your typical pin stripe pressed brief case toting executive, Paul Mush looks more like the guy coming to trim the hedges and prune the trees. But when he starts to deliver anecdotes that cut right through to the secrets of how and why a deal gets done, one is compelled immediately to perk up and pay undeterred attention.

Paul’s uncanny ability to find salient points that turn a nothing opportunity into an amazing chance to create a win for both the buyer and the seller is impressive. And, if you listen, you’ll actually learn something useful. His straight forward honesty can seem impertinent but it only serves to highlight his desire to get the best he can out of individuals with less chutzpah to move and act in their own best interest.

Paul Mush is a master at teaching how to sell. But what might be even more impressive is his knack of pushing a protégé to reach into their own innate reserve of talent to look far beyond any level they might have thought they were limited to. At LegalMatch, Paul started with nothing in the way of experienced sales talent and hoisted a group of believers to reach sales levels 100 times higher than anyone ever thought was possible. He showed a group of young wayward upstarts how to look beyond where they stood today and push for what they could attain tomorrow, And they did. He taught them to think like they were successful and to become successful. And they were successful.

Paul leaves and indelible impression on those he touches. He prepares, he prepares and he prepares some more. He’s tough and relentless. He’s results oriented and is intolerable of excuses. He teaches how to be tough, relentless and intolerable of anything less than excellence. And he teaches how to get results. Results is what he gets.

I will never be able to thank Paul Mush enough for the imprint he’s left on my life in the three short years I was exposed to his Multi-dimensional training technique. Paul showed me how to make a fishing pole and taught me how to use it. Success is mandatory are words I will always live by. Thank you Paul Mush for helping me to understand those words.

My admiration of Paul Mush goes beyond respect and love.

It’s Zen.

Letter: During the last year at LegalMatch, I learned more from you about sales and marketing than I have in the last decade of my career. Testimonial: Your ability to create and develop a sales team is amazing. You are one of the few people I can think of that can summon all of your knowledge and experience at will to benefit the company you are leading and accomplish the goals you have set for yourself.

Your successes are an inspiration to all of us who are just beginning our careers in sales. The best part about your leadership was that there was no bureaucracy to hinder our progress. You were open and honest about everyone and their abilities. That is something I know everyone here will miss.

I have just started getting the hang of selling, even though it is a slow start up. Ideally I would have liked for you to still be our VP of Sales when I consistently started bringing in sales, so I can benefit from your years of experience.

You are THE salesman amongst salesmen. Best Regards,

Testimonial: Paul Mush is not just good he is off the charts fantastic and one of the few for whom the word awesome is accurate.

I was in the top 1% of Marriott Corporations MVCI sales division. Our division was awarded the Stevie Award beating out over 500 top companies. You might say I was in the top 1% of the #1 sales force in the nation. Paul Mush’s sales’ training and leadership puts to shame everything I ever learned at Marriott and Marriott was above excellent according to Tony Robbins and others who made the Stevie award award to Marriott.

Why is Paul so good? Simply because he communicates basic sales concepts in a most creative and dynamic way. He inspires, motivates and then also gives scientific selling models that will blow you away.

Paul is a leader of leaders. If you want your company’s sales team to be shaken to the core and inspired to the mountain top while being given practical hands on how to sales instruction Paul Mush is as good as it gets in this nation. Call me anytime and I will personally verify these statements. Call Paul and he will.

Testimonial: Paul attracts unique talent – highly trainable, internally motivated, and fully committed. His knowledge, experience and skills selling and training sales teams undisputedly deserve to be called genius. The fact that he only accepts hard work and results as an indication for success keeps a healthy balance between those seeking new challenges, and those mastering them. But even more importantly, through highly entertaining, multidimensional training, he continually inspires the courage to shape one’s own reality and integrity that transcends the work environment.

Let’s just say that getting someone with no sales experience to book $139K in Sales in 2.5 months, and on top of that get her to muster up the courage to move out on her own with the last money she scrapped from an old 401K, takes a special kind of motivation.

Letter: It has been an honor and a pleasure working with you.

Testimonial: I was recruited at LegalMatch.com in September, 2003 and attended a one week sales training class taught by Paul Mush. Paul’s class has been by far, the most insightful, inspirational as well as entertaining I have attended.

I had my doubts during training because the most difficult group of professionals to sell anything to, are attorneys; consequently, selling an intangible product such as a LegalMatch membership to attorneys seemed next to impossible. It was hard to believe the outrageous amounts that Paul said we would be earning.

I was totally blown away when in November, my second month at LegalMatch; I earned $14,000 in commissions. No kidding!

Testimonial: Paul is “THE GREATEST SALESMAN IN THE WORLD”. He is the very reason why applied and I am still here with Legal Match.; thus his legend will carry on with my endeavors. He is one of the most inspirational, uplifting and motivational person that I have ever come across. I have attended sales seminars and read several books on sales, but Paul captures the essence of the solid sales training. Paul has a winning tactic, a winning story and a kicking style. Every salesman, leader and organization should meet Paul, personally and or through his DVD series.

I Thank God for bring Paul into my Life! “It is in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for. Long before we first heard of Christ and got our hopes up, he has his eye on us, he has designed on us for glorious living, part of the overall purpose he is working out in everything and everyone” Ephesians 1:11 – Paul truly knows his “Purpose Driven Life”

Letter: I’ve never met a person who has more stories and analogies than you. It’s a very powerful arsenal when dealing with our prospects. In fact, the emphasis (from you) to tell stories to help them open up and see how we work has diminished over the past few months. That’s one thing I think could help us poke into the their pains and get them to relate with what we’re talking about. Overall, I get a least one good gem or reminder from each of your training sessions. Whether it’s on a macro level or micro level, your trainings are very helpful.

Testimonial: Over the past 17 years of my sales career, I have never come across a person with so much knowledge, competence and vision, as I have with Paul Mush. Paul’s ability to teach and motivate people is unprecedented. He has developed a sales process that is a proven success and is much more leading edge than any other process I have come across. Paul takes the sales process far beyond the tactical realm. His background and wisdom gives him the ability to share what it really takes to be successful in sales at a higher level. He taught me how critical it is to grow a company through effective recruiting and thorough training. I was very fortunate to have learned under Paul and work with him to build a successful company.

Letter: Paul, It’s nice to see that you are making the most out of what God gave you and of what you’ve given yourself. If there is such a thing as a “sin” it would have to be for a man with a great gift not to use it. If Vladimir Nabokov didn’t write, If that fat guy from The Three Tenors didn’t sing, and if Paul Mush didn’t teach sales; these would all be great sins and the world would be a lesser place for it.

I’ve been in sales my entire adult life and have been to every sales training you can imagine. The training I received from you was far and away the best. It has been useful in many aspects of my life, not just with LegalMatch. As a matter of fact I used it as a closer when recruiting people. If they were on the fence as to coming to training, I’d say “whether or not you make it with LM, this training will change your life. You’ll be able to use it wherever you go. If it’s not the best you’ve ever had, I’ll pay for your trip.” Needless to say, I never paid for a single trip.

Testimonial: Does your organization need to separate the wheat from the chaff? Are you looking for the all-time motivator? Someone who’ll show the deadbeats in your company the door and the under-achievers the way to the top? Don’t look any further, call him now. Seriously, before some other desperate guy with a great idea and a two-bit sales team does.

I’ve worked with (and for) Paul a number of times in the past ten years – he knows his sh*t; he doesn’t take any sh*t, and he’ll turn your sh*t into gold.

Fasten your seat belt, because you’ll be going from zero to sixty faster than you can say “double my sales”. One caveat – like Sinatra, he doesn’t suffer fools, so don’t waste his time and embarrass yourself unless your serious about some radical change to your sales chart – HIS WAY.”

Testimonial: I first became aware of Paul Mush when I was forwarded one of his job postings. I was immediately struck by the candor and directness of his posting. Paul’s ad was so compelling, that I quit the cushy salary job that I had somehow drifted into and went back into commission only sales.

Paul facilitated the best sales training I have ever attended. Not only does he teach the building blocks for a successful sales career, he also gives you the “Big Picture” rationale to back it up. Paul’s training is multi-dimensional in that he presents the material in such a way that it is actually “experienced” by the student rather than just conceptually discussed.

Results speak for themselves, and Paul’s unwavering strength of leadership, clarity of vision and adaptability to change are evidenced in the overwhelming success he has led others to experience.

The difference between Paul and every other Sales Manager I have ever had is that Paul is actually able to inspire people into action. Inspiration, motivation, instruction and leadership mean nothing if people don’t follow by acting on what they’ve learned.

Testimonial: I have had a sort of luxury, i.e. the type that can be only afforded in the realm of a battlefield in the midst of constant & massive enemy attacks, working with Paul Mush at LegalMatch, as a company executive, for the past 3 years. I’d like to attest that it’s my firm belief – that Paul is the but-for-cause for, first & foremost, company’s general dominant positioning in the marketplace as well as LegalMatch’s Sales’ exponential success & growth from the ground-up.

More specifically Paul was instrumental in instituting the new sensible / efficient business model, superb training, development and recruitment of talented sales force. Paul’s sales education is the best I have ever experienced via his unique, multi-dimensional, eclectic sales training approach.

His multi-dimensional,continuous sales training lacks the embedded customary cliches and meaningless motivational hype; on the contrary, it sensibly integrates sales process with human experiences, both in terms of the “big picture” and the wide spectrum of tactical tools.

Testimonial: I had the opportunity to work with Paul Mush in San Francisco for about a year and four months. I have learned more from Paul about sales, personal achievement, growth and how to set and achieve goals than anybody I’ve ever met, including my own Father.

It is true; he is the “Best of the Best” in his field. Not only does he know how to teach individuals how to sell, but he also knows how to take an average person and have them perform miracles. He has impacted many people’s lives including my own. Though, I am not one of his top sales reps, I have learned a lot about selling effectively. Paul has taught me something that no one else has every taught me, and that is to own my success and to own my failures. To me that is important.

I have worked with several sales managers in other companies but I quit. Why? Because I was a young man who was hungry to learn, and who was hungry to grow. They couldn’t provide me the knowledge that I was looking for. I was looking for a mentor to teach me how to be the best. Then, I met Paul Mush. Paul was a big reason why I joined LegalMatch. I remember Paul saying that he does training on a daily basis with individuals and group trainings once a week. WOW! That’s what I needed.

Paul is a great salesperson and a great motivator. HE IS A LEADER. If anybody knows how to take a company to the next level, Paul Mush is the right person. He has performed miracles through his Multi-Dimensional training. He will not show you a fantasy world, but he will show you reality. He will teach you how to survive in this world. “Being nice gets you nowhere.”

Paul, I would like to thank you for inspiring me and teaching me how to be an achiever.

Letter: Thanks for the training yesterday. I appreciate your dedication and vision, and most important, willingness to share it.

Lots of streaming thoughts and basically me, “shaken up” ….. but in a totally GREAT way. This is life at its best. I was LOOKING for this kind of excitement!! Anyway, your words on your site brought it all home. I am determined to figure out the WHOLE picture, this thing called SALES and why salespeople are usually considered instant dregs and why on the other hand, if the person who’s selling is merely SERVING can transform the moniker from sleaze to saint…… anyway, it’s thrilling and I thank you over and over for stimulating parts of me that are now ALIVE more than I ever thought could be possible. Letter: It was abundantly clear to me within minutes that Paul Mush was a person that I wanted to work with. My background in sales began when I was a boyscout senior patrol leader with Troop 43 in Princeton, N.J. and led to a year and a half as a field supervisor for Collier, a division of MacMillan Publishing, the nation’s largest publisher of educational materials. Later I would spend the better part of a decade using those same tools of communication as a settlement negotiator for a personal injury law firm.

At the time, few people would have told me that a year and a half selling encyclopedias door to door would have turned out to be more valuable than an MBA. However, the sales techniques that I learned during that time laid the groundwork for literally all the business success that I’ve enjoyed since. And upon seeing Paul Mush’s Informational Presentation, I knew we were on the same page.

The beauty of the educational sales presentaion that Paul has mastered, is that it does not insult anyone’s intelligence. In fact, it is not “sales” at all. Rather, it amounts to presenting what the company does, and evaluating the reaction of the prospective customer. It is akin to “painting the picture” verbally of how the company and product are of a definate benefit and value to customers, and how the prospect can’t lose by serving the customers. If the prospect can’t see it for themself, then no grovelling is required on the sales persons part. Instead, the sales person simply moves on and paints the picture again for another prospect.

Ultimately, with Paul’s approach, I am closer to a business advisor to high level prospect companies, than I am to a salesman. This I find refreshing, as do all of the companies I do business with.

In closing, I find it interesting that I have not come across any company or individual that has such a firm grasp of this style of doing business since 1989 when I stopped selling encyclopedias. Thus, I wold have to say that Paul Mush is literally one in a million.

Testimonial: I have been doing phone sales for the past three years and not till now have I felt like I am learning to sell. I think the sales training here is world class and I am happy to be a part of it. I like the way the weak are weeded out and the strong survive. This

If I get bent out of shape on a paticular call I simply move on. I see how much business I can stir up and close in the frame of the work week then I start over the next Monday… Simple.

Letter: Paul, It has been an honor to work with you. Your sales training and approach is simply revolutionary, and a breath of fresh air.

Simply put, it’s changed my LIFE for the better.

Who wouldda knew?

Testimonial: Around the office I’ve heard your training called anything from bullshit pop pyschology, to just… well…. bullshit. For me, it’s more like a combonation of Zen, psychology, physics, and common sense. All of sales is human behaviour, and understanding it is to your advantage.

Your lessons not only apply to on the job, but life in general. I can very well use the understanding I learn on wednesday THAT NIGHT, and when I come home and thrusday morning at work. Good stuff! And much better than all the other sales BS training I’ve learned before.

Letter: At first I thought you were an absolute sphincter, harking back to your halycon days during the first Gulf War – now a decade ago. Now however, with a few sales on the board and getting easier every time, irrespective of how long I am in the employ of LM, I will always look fondly back on you as the profanity-riddled guy who ‘woke me up’. It’s what I needed and knowledge I can take with me anywhere, forever. Thanks very much.

Testimonial: In our company there are many strong capable voices that get heard. Within that environment it is so easy to pick up on ‘poor’ mutations of the original voice and forget what the original voice should sound like. That’s why, it is important to hear from the voice of the ‘originator’ periodically to keep in-tune with proper technique and message.

Paul Mush’s training zeroes in on just the right language and just the right attitude adjustments needed to stay on the right track to close deals with the LegalMatch sales sequence. Paul’s tweaking and coaching of the fundamental process helps to re-focus light on areas of one’s sales sequence that may be flawed.

Thanks Paul for the useful tools, information and motivation needed to stay on top of the game.

Letter: PAUL MUSH THE SALES GOD! I must admit, you have changed my career, not only you are an amazing coach but you also have managed to change my perspective towards life. You have inspired me to be on top of the economy and I will always remember you for that. I have always excelled in college and in every job I held, as in my most recent job, generating 8 sales only in my first month, but what I have learned from you, and your energy towards life, has given me insurmountable confidence in achieving my goals.

Your Approach to Sales is no-nonsense and a breath of fresh air. Paul, you don’t know how many times I have been on the receiving end of a weepy, whiny or slimy sales presentation where I felt the sales person had no interest in my business, no understanding of my workload and no backbone. I would like to thank you for the informational interview last night. I found it quite interesting, it answered most of my questions, enough for me to be sold on the opportunity. I entered the meeting in a negative mind frame. I did this for the sole purpose of being a tough sale. I know that in order for me to sell something I have to be convinced of its quality. I also knew that if I could be convinced, and sold myself on the company, I could become an extremely successful member of its sales force. This leaves us with at the beginning of the next step. You have successfully sold me on your company and now I will, in return, sell you on my candidacy for training.

Paul, Can’t argue with your calling it the Best Sales Gig in the World. The opportunity appears great. What I enjoyed most about last night was seeing a pro in action. What a pleasure.

I walked from 5th and Market to your office and the walk was worth it. My random thoughts about the job are: I love the idea of working for you, an expert I can learn from. I connected with your sense of humor; in a recent job of mine I worked for one of the most successfulsalesmen / CEO’s in the world and he had no sense of humor I was aware of. It was awful.

Right on with the positioning of the “Factors in considering a Job:” I bought into each one. You are the best. I am very glad our paths crossed.

I cannot begin to tell you how many times I’ve composed this email in my head from the initial decent down the stairs after your presentation, to the drive home, to my retelling of the event to my roommate. I keep composing it again and again to make sure I get everything just right.

My quandary is how to parlay to you my awe of your presentation skills without sounding too patronizing and overly eager for cash. I went with everything from: Your Presentation was Awesome to Sign Me Up to Show Me the Money.

For the first time in a long time, I truly felt/feel “on fire” about a business venture due to what you had to say and what it is you are putting on the table. And, quite frankly, I would love to learn what you can teach me. From what you demonstrated tonight, you have something from which I can glean and take with me wherever my path may wander.

For instance, not only can I succeed with this position, but by learning the skills you have to teach, I know I can negotiate a better deal on my next Toyota (Porshe/Jaguar, etc.).

First and foremost, thank you so much for the opportunity to hear you speak last night. I really appreciate you bringing me in. I heard you loud and clear last night… I came home dazed and excited…I rewrote my notes and let it all sink in over night, and now I am ready to talk! I don’t know how to best sell myself to one of the most persuasive salesman I have ever met.

I noticed last night that there were not too many “real” salesmen (we are indeed a rarebreed)… some bit off more than they can chew or others obviously hesitated at the notion of “commission only.” Conversely, the Open House last night only solidified my instinct about your company being somewhere I belong.

More than anything, I am excited to work under you and learn more…every penny can shine a little bit more with the right direction and mentorship.

You sold me. Signed, sealed, delivered I’m yours. Not in a million years did I ever think I’d consider taking a 100% commission sales position. That was before last night. Last night I learned quite a bit about your company and quite a bit about myself.

Your product is beneficial and all parties involved win. From top to bottom the organization is professional and extremely well positioned in the market. The training, lifestyle, and money you offer are both enticing and exciting. Your sales approach: “sell the dream” and “I deal in reality” is awesome and very on the level. Last night fully reinforced what I had taken from hours spent on your site.

But more important than anything I learned about the company last night is what your presentation made me
realize about myself. I’m 27 years old. I get paid $60K a year with jack squat bonuses. I drive my mother’s Toyota Corolla. I am unhappy with this life. Your presentation made me realize I am “that sucker” slowly boiling to death.

This is not the life I want to continue to lead on a day to day to day basis. Not anymore. I’m ready for the challenge. I’m ready to be a closer and I’m ready for you and Wayne to give me everything you’ve got. I’m ready to throw myself into the fire and ready to make both of us very, very happy. I look forward to speaking with you soon. Thanks again Paul.

Thank you for inviting me to the company presentation this evening. It was the most positive, honest, personally motivating opportunity description I’ve ever witnessed. Yours is a company I would love to work hard for based on the seven topics you covered, watching you and hearing the passion in your voice, imagining how much thought, effort and time you must have put into developing a winning sales training & rewards program. Thanks for inviting me to the presentation last night. As you said, you delivered more than you promised. The reason I cam last night was that I knew that the market size is huge, so the potential was also large. I wanted to see what the products value was. I agree that 90% of these other companies had no product, no customer base, no demand and no chance of survival. As late as Wednesday afternoon I was not sure whether or not I was going to attend your open house presentation. I am employed, and at the current moment I am satisfied with my job. I can honestly say, listening to your presentation was one of the best decisions that I have ever made. I found that many of your statements regarding other sales positions, in particular the negative aspects, rang true for me.

But more importantly, you have convinced me that your business model is so sound, and that the opportunities available within the company are truly impressive, that if I was fortunate enough to earn a position with the company, I would definitely do so on a commission only basis, even though I had previously told myself I absolutely would not work for commission only.

Paul, Thanks for the great presentation last night! When I read the ad in Craig’s and then went to the site, I was started to get excited about the possibility of working with you. After the Open House last night and listening to you, I am ready to start on Tuesday!

When I left last night, I was walking on air. The thought of working with a VP of Sales that knows what he’s doing, well, that’s exactly what I need in my career right now.

After years of working for lousy managers on difficult deals, this has me pumped up! I’ve paid my dues on the phone. All the potential closes I saw go by the wayside because of a lack of vision or skill from the people that
where supposed to be helping me, it bogels my mind just thinking about it.

One thing I can promise you, I will give it my all to help put your company on the map, while I take it to the Bank! My gut is telling me, I can do this. My gut is also telling me your company and me are made for each other. I’m asking you to hire me Paul, you won’t be dissapointed, It’s a win-win situation for all involved. Thanks again Paul, I look foward to hearing from you real soon.

It was a pleasure meeting you, and I want you thank you for inviting me to what was a very exciting and inspiring presentation. My thoughts at the end were simply that this truly is the best sales gig I have ever come across. The business model really makes sense for all parties involved, the people I met seemed genuinely excited about working there, and, after meeting you, I think I could learn a great deal from you, and start knocking down sales from the very start. Also, your compensation plan seems very generous. Also, I am only interested in a long-term play, which is what I see here.

After your terrific presentation last night, I’m totally convinced that this is in fact the perfect gig:

-great product: real and significant benefits to both consumer and attorney, way better than what else is out there. Credible responses to any conceivable objections. I have no illusions that this is a slam dunk sale, but if you can get the guy on the phone and get him engaged, then you’ve got a high chance of closing him, no doubt.

– great company: I like your build-it-brick-by-brick strategy (that’s how I built my last business). No BS, a very straightforward proposition: If you know how to sell and make the calls, you’ll make money.

– great people: I could learn a lot from you, no doubt about it. Very impressed that you know EXACTLY what you’re doing.

– great training: totally impressed with your presentation. I have total confidence that you know exactly what works in selling this product, and that you can improve my selling skills significantly.

I thought last night’s presentation was fascinating. I’ve sold by phone before: 6 weeks of ads for a testimonial dinner program. I made a lot of money, but what a horrible day-to-day experience that was! I’ve had success selling big-ticket packages to educational institutions, both public and private (millions of dollars in materials and services).

But I’d love to learn an effective blend of the art and the science of sales. I think you’re the guy who can teach me.
Jay Estey

Your presentation impressed me this evening. I came away thinking…this is a guy who knows his stuff and has the conviction behind this opportunity to make it work. I want to become part of the plan. My years of telephone sales have taught me a great deal about communicating. But your approach gets me very excited about re-learning all that I have done in the past. Nolo – Initial Training Class

Testimonial:”Paul Mush is fond of discussing what the top 1% of sales people do that the other 99% don’t. In my 20 years in sales, it strikes me that the same could be said for sales trainers.

While Paul may spend time on the basics, it’s the nuances where better sales people flourish – and where he spends a good deal of his training…Hallelujah! Finally, someone who gets that while Closing is necessary, it’s more about a meaningful dialogue ‘in-between’ that ultimately makes or breaks the sale.

I’ll listen to Paul eight days a week!”

Thanks Paul! You rock!

Even the job posting was brilliant. Like some oddball thing, some bright aberration in the vast and drab expanse of barely distinguishable sales jobs on Craigslist. I shuddered as I read through them, day after day, wondering if I could ever submit. They were all saying the same thing, in Corpspeak, and it was not only boring to read about their boring jobs, it was downright frightening to contemplate days or years spent plodding along with some team of plodders, fulfilling their drab plodder dreams and scraping out a plodder living for myself.

Then I saw the ad Paul wrote, for an IC sales job. I was transfixed. It was intelligently written, conversational, intriguing, and closed me faster than anything ever has before, or probably ever will again. Before I was done reading the ad I was totally convinced that this was The Job For Me.

I am one of the lucky ones to have learned that not only does he write that way, he teaches people to sell that way. Intelligently, enthusiastically, without guile, or manipulation, without even sounding like a salesperson.

Paul Mush has a lot going for him. He’s charming, disarmingly funny, extremely smart and like a steel leghold trap, all at once. He thinks faster than anyone I ever met. The training was so beyond excellent I can’t even put words to it.

The guy’s a wizard. He’s not intimidating or full of himself, and he doesnt waste anyone’s time. As someone who sets a high bar for where and with whom I invest my time and energy, I could not have found a better teacher to show me the way.

He turned those tired, hackneyed ideas about sales and salespeople (and myself) upside down and inside out, and then finished them off for good. Chop! Chop!

At first I was skeptical about the 3 day sales training from Paul in California. The job as I understood it was a one or two call close for a relatively small amount of money and company’s history and background didn’t seem all that complicated to me. In fact, I asked if I could attend for 1 day thinking that would be enough for me to be “on my way selling.

It turns out that Paul’s training was not at all what I expected. His no-nonsense style and interesting business sucess stories gave an insight into what makes a salesperson great, not just good or above average. It was kind of like the opposite of a motivation speech, which I usually enjoy, but much more practical and educational.

His style of teaching is so unique, it actually took until the end of the 2nd day for me to fully understand why he said what he did. I definately don’t think I would be at the top this sales team or at the top of the next team I join if not for these 3 valuable days spent with Paul.

Thanks again.

I’ve been in sales for 12 years, and have sold everything from dining programs to 32MM Cessna Citation X business jets, thinking that recurrent training was unnecessary. How wrong I was! Paul Mush re-invigorated me with basic, yet new, sales techniques. Taking the long view, Mush makes sure the salesperson is familiar with the products’ strategic placement. He then gives the sales professional the tactical tools to make the sale.

If you’re searching for a carrot with a name to read from a script, looking to put in their time, Mush isn’t for you. If you’re looking for a motivated sales professional, call Paul Mush.

I have been in sales, marketing, business and corporate development for over fifteen (15) years. Prior to attending Paul Mush’s (on-line lawyer directory) sales training, I thought this would be another same old sales training in which I have received in the past.

I even ask Paul if its possible for him and Nolo to provide us an on-line version of the sales training and to cut the three days sales training into a one day joint.

To my surprise, there were so many new sales approach, techniques, strategies, and psychology in which I have learned from the first day of Paul Mush’s sales training. Paul’s sales training was extremely informative, and his style of training was aggressive, and motivationally charged.

I not only use my digital voice recorder to record the whole training, I even found myself taking notes in which I have not done so for many years. Paul’s sales training is by far the best hardcore sales training I have ever received.

Prior to Paul’s sales training, I thought I was already a super salesman. Through Paul’s sales training, I have realized that no one is a super salesman until they attend Paul Mush’s sales training and be grilled by Paul Mush’s training style and the first hand sales experience in which Paul Mush has to offer.

Even as a self proclaimed superstar salesman, I feel that Paul’s sales training has empowered me with new set of sales skills and mentality in which will allow me to achieve greater goals in life.

Thank you so much Paul for the experience and enlightenment.

Nolo – Weekly Continuing Training Conference Calls

I had a positive sales call as a result of you pushing us to get referrals. I gave a demonstration to a lady family law attorney. It was going well until I asked for the credit card and she decided to pull back. So I told her that I always like to ask for referrals. She replied Oh! there is a lot of them. Betty Blanks is a good family law attorney. My response was “Betty has signed up with us.” There was silence on the phone. I said, “Are you sure you want to pass this up?” She said, “No, I don’t.” I said, “What credit card do you want to use? The sale was made.

I enjoyed the sales training call the week before last the best. I taped it and even listened to it again. It was the week Amanda talked about her voice message she left and Scott spoke about how he asked questions throughout his presentation. I liked his analogy of his view working with firms and how he likes to work with lawyers that passed the bar after 1980. When you are working in smaller areas you have to be careful not to burn your leads up. You have to work smart. In smaller areas they tend to think they can depend more on word of mouth.

I really liked what you had to say about “Not trying to sell.” It makes sense.

I personally find the calls very helpful and very motivating. They are good reminders of the good habits needed to be successful, and no matter how good we think we are, there is a human tendency backslide.

I am extremely grateful for your continued training. It really helps. I am able to pull a few nuggets each week from Monday’s call and apply them so I am improving. I also am re-reading the manual you wrote, as I missed stuff the first time around.

Feedback that I have gotten talking to other reps is that they are not jumping in to contribute on the call because of the fact that you so directly criticize and are cynical, sometimes. I kind of got pissed off about that (the word, “slackers,” really bothered me), but I gave myself an attitude adjustment.

You have your own style of communicating. I need to learn what you are teaching. And, I know you are of good will and are outstanding in sales. I want to get really good at this. All I need to do is make more calls and keep learning.

I like the idea of having the reps who are really making a lot of sales, sharing what works for them.

I would like to say that I have been getting great support from everyone when I call them individually. This is a great group of people. You did a great job of hiring for Nolo.

I get very motivated and absorb much uselful info from the calls, paul. It’s good to hear from colleagues. Definitely worth my time (are you kidding me??). You have so much experience I just soak it in, whatever you’re talking about.

I find them very helpful. I take notes in my diary and look at them every morning to remind me what I can improve and or change. I get several points every call that modifies and or improves what I’m doing in practice.

I believe picking two or three fundamentals every week and reviewing them would be helpful.

I can read it over and over but hearing you talk about how to handle different situations is more effective.
